The rule sets no continuing-education hour count and no pharmacology hours. Hours recorded as 0 means the rule imposes none, not that the value is unknown.

The 100 hours per two years is the NCCPA maintenance standard and is not stated in the state rule. An AAPA state summary also lists 2 hours of child abuse recognition and reporting education; that is not in the rule text.

Notes. Secondary source; confirm with the board. The CU Anschutz AA program list (states where AAs work by license, regulation or certification, or by physician delegation) and the BYU 2023 list of authorized states do not include Idaho, so no state licensure for anesthesiologist assistants was found. This is not confirmed on a board or statute page.
Idaho nursing CE requirements
Nursing boards usually count continuing education in contact hours rather than CME credits, and the nursing license renews on its own schedule, which may differ from the medical board dates above. Nurse practitioners and nurse anesthetists have their own sections above.
Nurse Licensure Compact Idaho has implemented the Nurse Licensure Compact. A registered or practical nurse whose primary state of residence is Idaho can hold a multistate license issued by Idaho, which carries the privilege to practice in the other compact states, and a nurse with a multistate license from another compact state can practice in Idaho under that privilege. Renewal and CE for a multistate license follow the rules of the home state that issued it. The compact covers RN and LPN/LVN licenses only, and advanced practice authority is still granted state by state. This compact list was last reviewed on November 3, 2026. Read the compact guide for RNs and LPNs.

- Continuing competency
- IDAPA 24.34.01 (Idaho Board of Nursing rules) and Idaho Code 54-1411 set no continuing-education hours or competency activities for RN or LPN renewal, so hours 0 means none are required by the rule text.

Notes. IDAPA 24.34.01 (Idaho Board of Nursing rules) and Idaho Code 54-1411 set no continuing-education hours or competency activities for RN or LPN renewal, so hours 0 means none are required by the rule text. Some secondary sites still describe an older 15-hour requirement that no longer appears in the current rule. Under the board's biennial transition that began April 1, 2026, licenses move to 2-year terms expiring on the licensee's birthday, and the board's license page still lists August 31 expiry for RNs in odd years and LPNs in even years, so the licensee's own expiry date should be checked.

Nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurse anesthetists and anesthesiologist assistants usually also maintain national certification, which has its own cycle. The recertification basics guide explains how that fits alongside state rules. Nurses who hold licenses in more than one state can read the Nurse Licensure Compact for RNs and LPNs.
